Karnataka State Centre adjudged as the


For the year 2014-2015

The Karnataka State Centre has been adjudged as the "BEST STATE CENTRE" for the year, 2014-2015. The Award was conferred for its outstanding performance during the year 2014-2015 at the Ninety-sixth Annual General Meeting of The Institution of Engineers (India) held on 20 December 2015 concurrently with the 30th Indian Engineering Congress hopsted by Assam State Centre at Guwahati.
Dr. Wooday P. Krishna, Honorary Secretary, Karnataka State Centre received the Award from the President, Dr. L.V. Muralikrishna Reddy. Er. D.V. Nagabhushan, Er. A.S. Satish, Council Members and Er. Jasmail Singh, Joint Honorary Secretary, IEI, KSC were also present.


Dr. L.V. Muralikrishna Reddy, President inaugurated the, Kolar District Centre on 7 December 2015 at Dr.T.Thimmiah Institute of Technology campus.

Prof R.M. Vasagam, a Padma Shri Awardee and Chairman ; Dr.Woody P. Krishna, Honorary Secretary and Dr. Enti Ranga Reddy, Joint Honorary Secretary, IEI, Karnataka State Centre were present. Er. S.B. Sinha, Vice President, IEI. Er. B. Brahma Reddy, Secretary & Director General, IEI also participated in the ceremony. Er. D.V. Pichamuthu, Committee Member, IEI, KSC took the lead for establishing the said Centre at TTIT.

Dr. Syed Ariff, Principal, Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology and Dr. P.D. Sudersanan, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology were elected as the Chairman and Honorary Secretary of the District Centre respectively. Dr. Sandi Kumar Reddy, Scientist, NIRM was elected as the Joint Honorary Secretary. The function was attended by more than 100 members from various organisations of Kolar were present at the function.

100 Significant Achievements of IEI Council (2014-2015)

The Institution of Engineers (India) has carried out significant contribution over the last one year for the benefit of its members and the growth and advancement of the engineering profession. About hundred most significant and momentous achievements of IEI Council during the year 2014-2015 under the dynamic leadership of Dr. L.V. Muralikrishna Reddy as its President have been highlighted and brought out. The Council has created history in the annals of the Institution by conceptualising and executing several progressive initiatives that would enhance the credibility and generate additional resources in the coming years.
The Chairman, Honorary Secretary and the Committee of Karnataka State Centre heartily congratulate Dr. L.V. Muralikrishna Reddy and his team for the valuable accomplishments and initiatives undertaken during the last year.

The Institution of Engineers (India) is the Professional Body of Engineers founded in India and incorporated by the Royal Charter in 1935. From a humble beginning in 1920, today it is a multi-disciplinary nation-wide association having the largest body of its kind in the whole of Asia with multinational status and bilateral relations with many sister associations round the world. This Institution functions amongst the Engineers, Academicians and Research Workers and provides a vast array of technical, professional and support services to the Government, Industries, Academic and the Engineering community.

IEI launches Institutional Arbitration

IEI-Institutional Arbitration was launched by Hon'ble Shri D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Hon'ble Minister for Law & Justice, Govt of India at the HQ Cell of the Institution of Engineers (India), New Delhi on 22 September 2015. The function was presided by Dr. L V Muralikrishna Reddy, President, IEI. A galaxy of eminent senior engineers and arbitrators participated. Vice President Er. S.B. Sinha, Council Members Er. D V Nagabhushan, Dr. Wooday P Krishna, Er. Narendra Singh, Er. Pradeep Chaturvedi, Er.V.L. Malhotra, Er.V.P. Bansal, Er. J.C. Singhal including Past President Er. O.P. Goel and other Corporate Members participated. As of now especially when Infrastructure development is being considered as a key for an augmented and speedy revival of GDP and sustained inclusive growth for India , the role of this largest multidisciplinary professional body of engineers becomes all the more pronounced in building this robust infrastructure at an affordable cost. And with the govt allowing 100 % FDI in construction projects, many global investors are also expected to participate in the country's progress. Involvement in disputes or delayed addressal, may have a negative impact on these investments and investors. Arbitration is a solution towards a healthy, conducive and enabling environment for investors. By accepting this responsibility, a new milestone has been achieved by the Institution with the launch of the – Institutional Arbitration – offering greater flexibility, prompt and amicable settlement of national and international private disputes at a lesser cost and time with restricted channels of appeal. This notable event was hosted by Delhi State Centre, IEI and the Hon'ble Minister for Law & Justice released IEI Rules of Arbitration 2015.

Karnataka State Centres History

Much earlier to the formation of The Institution of Engineers (India), in the old Mysore, an Association of Engineers was formed in the year 1863 from amongst the engineers of Public Works Department on a modest scale to cater to the technical needs of the engineers. On expansion of its membership and activities, it was registered as Mysore Engineers' Association in the year 1906. The State Government gave a site free of cost at K R Circle next to the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering and also provided a grant for construction of the Association building.
